An Interesting Specimen - Completed Sculpture

Here is the piece fully completed.

I ended up changing the colors of the monster/alien hand. Originally, I envisioned green. As I progressed, the ground and trees were green, the sky blue, and the mountains light brown. I chose red for the arm and yellow/orange for the hand so that it woud stand out from the other elements and seem that much more alien.

The final box received a veneer of cherry and some more delicate accents.

I made a very small butterfly net from wood, brass wire, and fine mesh cloth. The zoologist has brass buttons and a brass belt buckle.

The little bug is in a real miniature glass jar with a wooden lid.
