I used to have dozens of manilla folders full of images I had cut out.
I recall finding the image of the man with the TV and knew I would put something in it.
By some coincidence, I found a full page shot of this famous WWII photograph and a small version that fit in the TV. It seems so unremarkable now that we can digitize and resize images all we like. Back then, it seemed like some mysterious destiny.
Perhaps it's a statement about how our experience of world events via TV has replaced our experience of the actual events themselves.
